Early Signing Period Data in the State of Oklahoma

December 20, 2017 will go down as the first ever early college signing period for High School prospects.  We say the “big boys” or “blue bloods” continue to have success in landing the top 1% of the nation’s prospects and getting the large majority of those to sign early.  We will see another round of signing on Feb. 7, 2018 when the second signing period opens occurs.  This date we will see around 20% of the Division I prospects sign and we will see most all of the IAA, D2, NAIA and D3 signings happen on that date (or soon there after).

So what did the breakdown look like in the state of Oklahoma where we are based….well here you go:

6,000 High School senior boys play football in the State of Oklahoma.

We have one Junior College Program in the State of Oklahoma (NEO).

We had 27 kids sign to a Division I or IAA program.   Of those 11 signed with Power 5 programs.

We had 9 Junior College Signees from kids based  in Oklahoma sign with Division I schools.  6 of which signed with a Power 5 program.

Expect to see another two-three dozen prospects sign with Division I/ IAA schools in the February signing period and see upwards of 200+ sign with Division 2, NAIA and D3 programs as well.

Great opportunities at so many levels, but certainly interesting to break down how the early signing period went this year!  For more information on our recruiting advisement services contact us at bryanpaulbedford@gmail.com or DM @BedfordAgency on Twitter or Facebook or at http://www.thebedfordagency.com.
